With just 6 ingredients, these power-packed bars are perfect for keeping hunger at bay before, after or between workouts. They're high in protein from almond butter, protein powder and chia seeds, fibre from oats and sweet dates plus antioxidants from the raw cacao. And no added sugar. Basically every ingredient adds extra goodness!
Makes 4 bars, or 8 squares (200kcal, 20g protein, 4g fibre per bar)
Ingredients:
75g soft Medjool dates
125g almond butter
30g protein powder , vanilla
1 tbsp raw cacao powder
1 tbsp chia seeds
45g oats
Method:
Blend the dates in a food processor. If using dried dates, rehydrate in boiled water for 10 mins and drain before blitzing
Add the almond butter and blend again
Add the protein powder, chia seeds, cacao and oats and blend. Add a touch of water or milk if too dry.
Press into a rectangular container lined with greaseproof paper
Chill for an hour and cut into slices
